Hosted at The Radisson Blu Hotel, Glasgow, the BETA Housing Conference Scotland will bring together some of the most influential voices to provide an insightful and engaging discussion on residential development across Scotland. The event will provide an informal atmosphere with multiple learning and networking opportunities offering business critical information as to how you can work closely with the region’s stakeholders.

Incorporated into the event will be an exhibition zone, enabling the supply chain to communicate effectively their expertise in the sector, as well as themed breakout technical presentations for our delegates to gain a deeper knowledge of what solutions are available and how they can be embedded into their strategies.

BETA Housing Conference Scotland will provide a design led, solution based approach, presenting exemplary case studies from the sector and sharing in depth knowledge into some of the regions most prestigious and innovative schemes.   • Matt is an experienced practitioner who has led innovative architectural and planning projects. He has worked on projects from rural housing design to inner city housing and urban regeneration. Recently Matt initiated the award winning Hab-Lab building performance service and launched a new initiative, Passivhoos, aiming to bring Passivhaus standard performance to social housing budgets.

  • Neil McKay is the managing director of Urban Union, after taking on the role in 2016. Neil has worked in the construction industry for over 30 years and is an experienced chartered quantity surveyor with in-depth knowledge of developing major building and civil engineering projects in the UK and the Middle East. He also has experience of overseeing the contractual and commercial requirements of projects and partnering consortium arrangements. Prior to joining Urban Union Neil held various senior positions within Al Habtoor Leighton LLC and most recently was appointed a director on the Robertson Executive Board.
  • Stephen is a Partner at Barton Willmore, the UK’s largest integrated planning and design consultancy, where he has overall control of the Scottish consultancy team based in Edinburgh and the Design team across the North of the UK. He works for a variety of public and private sector clients, across all sectors and has operated at the highest level on major development and regeneration projects. He has worked on many high profile initiatives such as the expansion of Aberdeen Harbour, Planning for Housing around Edinburgh (SESPlan), the Commonwealth Games Athletes Village, Pennywell Regeneration in Edinburgh and Laurieston Residential Development.
  • Jon is a chartered architect and plays a key management and project delivery role in Barton Willmore’s Scotland Architecture team Jon is lead architect for a number of significant residential led regeneration projects across Scotland recently including Phases 2 and 3 of the Pennywell Residential Development in Edinburgh & Muirton in Perth. Jon and his team lead on the architectural design and design co-ordination on projects. Barton Willmore have been responsible for all stages of this project from bid to on-site technical support.
